Awareness program on Digital Democracy for Malaiyaha community

On 21st March 2026, the Voice of the Plantation People Organization (VOPP) successfully conducted a one-day training program on Digital Democracy for selected Malaiyaha parents, teachers, and youth in the Galle District.
During the program, discussions focused on why digital democracy knowledge is essential for the Malaiyaha community, the benefits that can be gained through digital democracy, and both the positive and negative impacts of digital technologies. Participants were also made aware of how to use digital tools safely and responsibly.

Mr. K. Harshani, District Coordinator of the Voice of the Plantation People Organization, Ms. Lavina Hasanthi, Program Manager, and Mr. Anthony Jesudasan, Executive Director, facelifted in the program.
The participants actively engaged in the session by sharing real-life issues they face in their daily lives within the plantation communities, demonstrating strong interest and participation throughout the program.
