On 11 July 2026, the Voice of the Plantation People Organization (VOPP) distributed school bags and exercise books to selected children from economically disadvantaged families attending four Tamil schools in the Galle District.
During the programme, an awareness session was also conducted to highlight the importance of education for Malaiyaha children from marginalized communities. The initiative aimed to encourage and motivate the children to continue their education with confidence and hope for a brighter future.
