ELEVATE 2025 – EXHIBITION AND DIALOGUE ON SOCIAL COHESION

An exhibition showcasing the results of the “Social Cohesion” project implemented during 2024–2025, led by ADT (Alliance Development Trust), with the support of the Government of Japan and in collaboration with UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund), was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall on 01.07.2025. This exhibition was entirely organized by ADT. At this exhibition, 11 organizations that implemented the aforementioned project set up exhibition stalls and showcased their capabilities.
The Voice of the Plantation People Organization (VOPP) also participated and displayed the current sad situation of the Malaiyaha people—especially those in Matara, Galle, and Kalutara—and the efforts taken by VOPP to address these issues. VOPP also highlighted the training programs it conducted on social cohesion and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for youth. These themes were presented through photographs, designs, banners, videos, and various reports.
Additionally, the Executive Director of the Voice of the Plantation People Organization (VOPP), Anthony Jesudasan, shared his insights and experiences from the project with the invited guests and the audience on stage.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the staff of ADT, including Sahara Arumugam, Michelle, Manisha, Sanjula, Jenny, and the volunteers, as well as to UNFPA and the Government of Japan. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sudarshana, Mr. Mark, Mr. Nilura Jayawardena, who supported us, S. Amurdam, Prabajini, Vijayakumari, S. Sadasivam, V. Ireland, Kavishka and Dilipkumar, our members, and the leaders of various civil society organizations who visited our booth at our invitation—and to all those who supported us in various ways.l
