The initial discussion on land, housing, and shelter support for the Malaiyaga victims of the DITWAH Cyclone was held with CSOs at the SIDA Training Centre, Hatton, on 9 March 2026.
The key aim of the meeting was to understand the role of CSOs and to nominate representatives to the Divisional Consultation Committees, which will be established by the government to identify suitable lands for housing and resettlement under the Rebuilding Sri Lanka Programme.
Participating CSOs agreed to collect data related to land, housing, and resettlement, while also suggesting potential individuals to the Divisional Committee’s.
