A National Dialogue on the survey report conducted earlier by the Centre for Monitoring Election Violence (CMEV) on election information, along with discussions on a future action plan, was held on 11th September 2025 at a private hotel in Colombo.
The event brought together scholars, former government officials, and civil society representatives. Anthony Jesudasan, Executive Director of the Voice of the Plantation People Organization, joined the dialogue and highlighted the views of the Malaiyaha community. He stressed that while the Malaiyaha people cast their votes in every election, they are still not fully recognized as citizens of the country and continue to be excluded from the benefits and rights they deserve.
The program was organized by CMEV as a collective initiative to promote inclusive democracy, accountability, and stronger citizen participation.
