A special discussion was held with Hon. Pradeepan Sundralingam, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure and Member of Parliament for the Galle District, along with local political representatives, to address the challenges faced by the residents of Bandegama and Ellekanda Estates.
As the Voice of the Plantation People Organization (VOPP), we actively participated in this meeting and presented the serious concerns of the Hemmeliya–Villegoda private estate community. We highlighted the urgent issue of estate management attempting to evict long-term residents from their homes and strongly urged direct government intervention to protect the affected families and ensure their right to housing.
Following the common discussion, the Deputy Minister and relevant officials met separately with Hemmeliya community representatives, assuring that the issue would be taken up with higher authorities to secure a prompt and fair resolution.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Hon. Pradeepan Sundralingam and all responsible officials for listening to the people’s grievances with empathy and commitment.

பெருந்தோட்டம் மற்றும் சமூக உட்கட்டமைப்பு பிரதி அமைச்சர் கெளரவ சுந்தரலிங்கம் பிரதீபன், காலி மாவட்ட பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் மற்றும் அரசியல்வாதிகள் பந்தேகம , எல்லேகந்த தோட்ட மக்களை சந்தித்து மக்களின் பிரச்சினைகள் தொடர்பாக கலந்துரையாடிய கலந்துரையாடலில் பெருந்தோட்டத்துறை மக்கள் குரல் அமைப்பினராகிய நாமும் கலந்துக்கொண்டு மக்களின் பிரச்சினைகளை எடுத்துரைத்ததோடு குறிப்பாக ஹெம்மெலிய விலேகொட தனியார் தோட்ட மக்களின் பிரதிநிதிகள் குழு ஒன்றை உரிய இடத்திற்கு வரவழைத்து அவர்களின் தற்போதைய பிரச்சினையான அத்தோட்டத்திலிருந்து மக்களை விரட்டுவதற்கு தோட்ட உரிமையாளர்கள் எடுக்கின்ற முயற்சிக்கு எதிராக அரசாங்க தலையீட்டை செலுத்துமாறு கேட்டுக்கொண்டோம். இதன்போது அமைச்சர் உட்பட உரிய அதிகாரிகள் ஹெம்மெலிய மக்களோடு விஷேட கலந்துரையாடலை நடாத்திய அதேவேளை இப்பிரச்சினையை மேலிடத்துக்கு கொண்டுச் சென்று வெகு சீக்கிரம் தீர்வு ஒன்றை பெற்றுத்தருவதாக உறுதியளித்தனர். இந்த மக்களின் பிரச்சினைகளைய கேட்டறிந்த பிரதி அமைச்சர் உட்பட பொறுப்புமிக்கவர்களுக்கோ எமது நன்றிகள். இதற்கு எமக்கு உதவியளித்த பிரதி அமைச்சரின் ஊடக செயலாளர் திரு. அஜித்குமார் அவர்களுக்கு நன்றி.
වැවිලි හා සමාජ යටිතල පහසුකම් නියෝජ්ය අමාත්ය ගරු සුන්දරලිංගම් ප්රදීපන්, ගාල්ල දිස්ත්රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රී සහ දේශපාලනඥයන් බද්දේගම , ඇල්ලේකන්ද වතු ජනතාව හමුවී ජනතාවගේ ගැටලු සම්බන්ධයෙන් සාකච්ඡා කරන ලද සාකච්ඡාවේ දී වතුකරයේ ජනතා හඬ සංවිධානයේ නියෝජිතයන්ද සහභාගී වෙමින් ජනතාවගේ ප්රශ්න පිලිබදව පැහැදිලි කල අතර විශේෂයෙන් හැම්මෑලිය විලේගොඩ පෞද්ගලික වත්තේ ජීවත්වන මලෛයහම් දෙමල ජනතා නියෝජිත කණ්ඩායම අදාල ස්ථානයට කැඳවා ඔහුන්ගේ වර්තමාන ගැටලුව එනම් මෙම ජනතාව එම වත්තෙන් නැරපීමට වත්තේ අයිතිකරුවන් ගන්නා උත්සහය පිලිබදව පැහැදිලි කල අතර මෙය සදහා රජය වහ ක්රියාත්මක විය යුතුයයි ඉල්ලීම් කරන ලදී. මේ අවස්ථාවේ දී අමාත්යතුමා ඇතුළු අදාළ නිලධාරීන් හැම්මෑලිය ජනතාව සමඟ විශේෂ සාකච්ඡාවක් පවත්වා මෙම ප්රශ්නය විසදීම සදහා වහ ක්රියාත්මක වන බව පොරොන්දුවේ. හැම්මෑලිය ජනතාවගේ ප්රශ්නවලට සවන්දුන් ඇමතිතුමාට හා අදාල නිලධාරීන්ට ස්තුතියි. මෙය සදහා සහය දැක්වූ නියෝජ්ය අමාත්යතුමාගේ මාධ්ය ලේකම් අජිත්කුමාර් මහතාට විශේෂ ස්තුතිය.
