A special discussion was held between the New Village Development Authority for the Plantation Zone and the Voice of the Plantation People Organization on the future development of a joint process aimed at finding sustainable solutions to the issues faced by the Malaiyaha people living in the Southern and Western Provinces. The discussion focused on matters related to land, housing, education, permanent settlement, land use, and basic facilities, as well as how the proposed process will be implemented.
This discussion took place yesterday (04 August 2025) at the office of the New Village Development Authority for the Plantation Zone.
Mr. R..M. Jinadasa – Chairman of the NVDS, Dr. Sammika – Ruhunu University and Borad Member of NVDA, Anthony Jesudasan, Executive Director , Lavina Hasanthi, Program Director, Francis Rajan- National Program Officer, Anton Wanaththaiya- Field Manager, Y. Yogasuji and other officers of NVDA participated in this important discussion.
දකුණ සහ බස්නාහිර පළාත්වල වෙසෙන මලෛයහම් ජනතාවගේ ඉඩම්, නිවාස ගැටලු, අධ්යාපනය, ස්ථීර ලිපනය, ඉඩම් පරිහරණය හා මූලික පහසුකම් ගැටලුවලට තිරසර විසදුම් සදහා ඒකාබද්ධ ක්රියාවලියක් ගොඩනැගීම හා ඉදිරියේදි ක්රියාත්මක වන ආකාරය පිලිබදව, වැවිලි කලාපය සදහාවු නව ගම්මාන සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය සහ වතුකරයේ ජනතා හඬ සංවිධානය අතර විශේෂ සාකච්ඡාවක් පැවැත්විණි. මෙම සාකච්ජාව වැවිලි කලාප සදහා වු නව ගම්මාන සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ කාර්යාලයේදි අද දන (2025. 08. 04) පවත්වන ලදී.
